This manual will guide you step by step on how to configure and manage Access Policies within AUTOMY.
This tool is essential to control who can access the platform, from where they can log in, and under which conditions.
With this functionality, you will be able to work with: Element Purpose 🛡️ Access Policies Allow you to authorize or block access based on rules defined by the company. ⚙️ Evaluation Mode Defines how the final result is resolved when multiple policies match at the same time. 🧩 Rules Allow you to evaluate conditions such as IP, country, portal, app, role, or known device. 📶 Priority Determines the order in which policies are evaluated. ✅ Effect Defines whether the policy allows or denies access when it matches. 🛡️ 1.
Access Policies 🧠 What are they? Access Policies allow you to control sign-in based on conditions configured by your company.
You can decide whether access should be allowed or blocked depending on the user’s context.
For example, you can restrict access by corporate network, geographic location, portal, application, or device type. 🔎 What are they used for? Allow access only from authorized networks Block access from non-authorized countries Restrict specific applications or portals Require the device to be known Create exceptions for specific users 📍 Access Main Menu → Settings → Organization → Access Policies 🆕 Create a policy Click Add .
Complete the following fields: Name Priority Effect Logical Operator (AND / OR) Rules Then click Add to save. ✏️ Edit Find the policy in the list, update the necessary fields, and save your changes. ❌ Disable or delete Depending on the configuration available in your environment, you can disable the policy or remove it from the list. ⚠️ Important: use clear names and well-organized priorities to avoid unexpected results. ⚙️ 2.
Evaluation Mode 🧠 What is it? Evaluation Mode defines how the final result is decided when multiple policies match at the same time. 🔎 Available options 1.
Deny overrides If a matching policy denies access, that denial takes priority. 2.
Allow overrides If a matching policy allows access, that authorization takes priority. 3.
First match The first matching policy according to priority will determine the result. 📍 Where to configure it On the main Access Policies screen, using the Evaluation Mode selector. ⚠️ Recommendation: if security is your priority, it is usually best to use Deny overrides . 🧩 3.
Rules 🧠 What are they? Rules are the conditions a policy must evaluate to determine whether it matches or not.
